Preservation of Wilson hosts various events throughout the year including our Annual Spring Garden Party & Art Show, Preservation Meet-ups, our Howl-o-ween Dog Costume Party, Workshops, Tours and more. In addition there are many events held in Historic Downtown Wilson which celebrate our community’s growing spirit of preservation and we are delighted to promote these on this website.

The Art Show is held annual during the Garden Party and open to all artists in North Carolina working in any medium with inspiration for the artwork coming through the artist’s wonderful North Carolina experiences. All artwork is available for sale.

Preservation of Wilson holds an annual Letter Fest in the Spring. We gather in a social setting to promote interest in Preservation of Wilson. This event is somewhat like musical chairs – folks move from chair to chair with pen in hand as we jot notes to new and old friends of Preservation of Wilson. Invited guests are our Board of Trustees, Committee Members, and those who are a current member of Preservation of Wilson at the donor level of $100 or more.

GOING LOCAL: OLD WINDOWS WORKSHOP
AN OVERVIEW OF THE RESTORATION, REPAIR AND EFFICIENCY OF HISTORIC WINDOWS

Join us for a day long workshop using the circa 1916 Nadal House windows as a learning tool. This workshop will help you understand the process of repairing old windows instead of replacing them with substitute materials. It is geared to residential and commercial property owners, do-it yourselfers, building contractors, and all-around old building enthusiasts. This workshop is sponsored by the City of Wilson Historic Preservation Commission, Preservation of Wilson, and the North Carolina State Historic Preservation Office.

Preservation of Wilson invites you and your furry friends for a barking fun Dog Costume Party! Pet owners are welcome to dress up as well! No pup? No problem! Everyone is welcome to attend this event! Betsy Peters Rascoe and Anne Joyner, both involved in Preservation of Wilson, are hosting this event as a way for more young people to learn about the work of the local preservation non-profit.
