When you get involved with Preservation of Wilson you will find a growing grassroots organization with a long list of volunteers supporting the preservation mission. There are many ways to meet your level of interest and work within your time schedule. We would love to have you as a part of the preservation team! 2017 MEETINGS & EVENTS SCHEDULE
Full Board of Trustees’ Quarterly Meetings – Meetings are held at the Wilson Visitors Center, 209 Broad Street. Social time begins at 5 p.m. and the business meeting at 5:30 p.m. Meeting dates for 2017 begin on January 12th with our Annual Meeting which is a joint meeting with Trustees and Committee Members. Other quarterly Board of Trustees’ meetings are May 11, August 24 and November 2.
Executive Committee Meetings – Meetings are held four times a year at 4:45 p.m. at the office of Preservation of Wilson unless otherwise determined. Meeting dates for 2017 are January 5, April 27, August 10, and October 26. Special called meetings set as needed.
Spring Letter Fest – March 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. Location: to be determined.
10th Annual Spring Garden Party & Fine Art Show – May 7th from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Location: 200 Gray Street, Old Wilson Historic District. This event will also kick off our Old Wilson Mile Medallion Walking Tour Program.
Marketing – Meetings are held four times a year at 5 p.m. on February 23, March 30, June 29, and September 21. Special called meetings will be set as needed. Location: Office of Hal Tarleton, Wilson Area Habitat for Humanity, Walston Center, 403 Nash Street, Suite 203.
Properties – Meetings are held ten times a year at 4 p.m. on the following days: January 25, February 22, March 29 (Joint meeting with Properties & Visioning Committees) April 26, May 31, June 28, August 30, Sept. 27, October 25 and Nov. 29. Special called meetings will be set as needed. Location to be determined.
Finance – Meetings are held seven times a year at 7:45 a.m. at the office of Perry Morrison, 4612 Nash Street NW on the following dates: January 30, March 27, April 24, June 26, August 28, September 25, and November 28. Special called meetings will be set as needed.
Visioning – Meetings are held nine times a year on the 2nd Tuesday at noon for a brown bag lunch meeting. Business meetings are 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. are held on the following days: February 14, April 11, June 13, August, 8, September 12, October 10 and November 14th. The March meeting will be a joint meeting with the Properties & Visioning Committees on March 29 at 4 p.m. Locations to be determined.
Hospitality and Art Committee – Meetings are held as needed.
City of Wilson, Historic Preservation Commission – 1st Wednesday of each month @ 5:30 p.m. at Council Chambers, 3rd Floor, City Hall.
2017 Christmas Tour of Old & Historic Homes – December 2nd. Details will follow on this Old Wilson Neighbors Association tradition.
Old Wilson Neighbors Association Meetings – Open to historic district residents and all who value preservation! The Saturday meetings will be at the library. The Tuesday evening meetings will be held at various locations downtown. Please plan to attend! Check out their Facebook page for details.
